Reaching out
In August floods and landslides near the Nuwakot region in #Nepal caused devastating damage, tearing through villages and leaving families with little or nothing. Steen-Hansen Charity, the non-profit organization established by workers in Steen-Hansen responded by supporting the immediate aid efforts.

People living in the mountains of Nepal are among the most resilient in the world. Yet once again, nature has shown the extent of its power. Approximately 1,500 people were killed and over 5,000 remain missing across Nepal and Tibet.
The disaster caused an estimated $4.8 billion in economic damages. It completely destroyed the Gyirong border port between China and Nepal, flattened roughly 7,500 homes, and trapped hundreds of workers inside the tunnels of 12 downstream hydropower projects

Our friend Mr Uttam Adhikari was quick to join the affected area, working alongside his team at Himalayan Eco Ride to support the emergency response. Steen-Hansen CHARITY decided to contribute to their efforts, providing rapid and direct assistance to people in urgent need. Since the support was delivered locally and without administrative overhead, our contribution went directly to those affected by the disaster. Water and blancets to people dislocated by the floods was our main priority.
