Selected for Art World Fair, Thale brings a powerful Bergen-born artistic voice to an international audience.
Our own Thale Steen-Hansen is rapidly emerging as a rising star in the digital arts world. She has recently been chosen by Gaudí Art Gallery to exhibit her work at the prestigious Art World Fair in Marbella — a recognition of artistic talent reserved for those who truly stand out.

For those of us who have had the privilege of knowing Thale over many years, this recognition feels both exciting and well deserved. We have seen her develop into an experienced and deeply expressive artist, with a visual language that is entirely her own.
Thale’s work is powerful because it is personal. She transforms lived experience into art, where dark trauma, anxiety and personal loss meet hope, resilience and optimism. Nothing in her paintings appears by chance. Every layer, contrast and fragment contributes to a deeper exploration of the human mind. Look closely, and you will often discover hidden details — small gems that allow each viewer to find their own meaning in her work.
And for those who cannot travel to Spain, there will still be an opportunity to experience her art here in Bergen. Thale will be exhibiting at Urdihuset from 24 to 27 September.
Bergen has fostered many great artists, and Thale truly deserves to be counted among them. Growing up close to the family business — a paint factory outside Bergen — perhaps it was almost inevitable that color, texture and visual expression would become such an important part of her life. Today, she uses colors and graphics with remarkable skill, creating works that are both visually striking and emotionally complex.
While we wait for the art she created for our Steen-Hansen facility at Hylkje to one day be valued in the millions, we can already say this with pride: Thale is making her mark.
We wish her the very best of luck with her exhibitions this year.
... and the next time you see one of our Steen-Hansen advertisements on iLaks, remember: you may not just be looking at a commercial...
You may be looking at fine art.
